Gabe’s Story Monday, August 29, 2011 at 2:17am Well, it’s been one week since Gabriel Michael Coy left us for a better place. We miss him more than words can describe, but we are doing OK, ’cause we know Gabe is with Jesus. According to a friend from church whom had a vision of Gabe in Heaven – Gabe says Jesus is way better than Mickey Mouse! I cannot even begin to properly express our deep gratitude and love to all of our friends and family that have offered their prayers, love, tears, stories of Gabe, and support through this tough chapter in our lives – from our whole family – THANK YOU and God bless all of you all! We were so blessed to be his parents. Gabe couldn’t talk, didn’t walk well, ate half his meals through a g-tube, spent over 600 nights in the hospital with many major heart surgeries, many…
Dennis Prager is dead-on accurate with his clear, articulate analysis. A must see for anyone wanting to figure out what is going on, and why.
Lee Strobel on the Reliability of the Bible Although there are about 20 major religions around the world, Christianity is the largest, with a little over 2 billion members; more than half of those, ascribing to the Catholic faith. Just over 10% of the world does not have a religion – they are mostly atheists whom do not believe in God or a deity of any kind. Each of these world religions has one or more “holy” books. Most of these holy books, except the Holy Bible, were written by one person, or a small handful of people, within the lifetime of the founder of the faith. In contrast, the 66 books of the Judeo-Christian Bible (Old and New Testaments) were written over a 1,500 – 1,600 year period, by 40 or more different Jewish writers, from disparate educational and vocational backgrounds; from diverse geographic regions; and separately influenced by…
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE – PLEASE UNDERSTAND: Salvation through belief and trust in Jesus Christ is NOT dependent upon which Bible version you read. In fact, you can be saved by HEARING the Word of God, not even having read the Bible. The MOST important thing is that YOU READ HIS WORD – ANY VERSION – AND GET IT INTO YOUR HEART, BELIEVE IT AND TRUST IT! REMEMBER, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28. If you believe in God and Jesus, you ARE the called; if you love God, ALL things work together for good. So don’t worry too much about Bible versions, rather, learn to love God, and just BELIEVE. Even though I got saved while reading an NIV Bible, and to this day, I will quote from various…
Like most people, I grew up going to church. I was an acolyte, took confirmation classes and attended youth group activities. I was a Methodist! Truth was, God was about as real to me as the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny or Santa Clause. I went through high school and college not giving God much thought. Late in my college career, I was exposed to some deep, complex ideas about the universe – graduate students in physics, and mathematics professors “expanded” my mind with a bunch of high-minded “how we got here” stuff. Recurring universe theories, string theory and multiple universes, all those created ideas to try and answer how, why and where we exist – all pointing to the BIG BANG theory as the “so-called” beginning. I agree that, however large, there is a finite amount of matter and energy in the universe. Neither can be created nor destroyed…
